In many communities, hearing loss goes unnoticed and untreated—not because solutions don’t exist, but because people don’t seek them. That’s the gap we aimed to bridge with our recent pilot project at Aberdeen Sports Village (ASV), a leading leisure centre in Scotland.
The concept was simple: bring proactive hearing checks into a setting where people are already motivated to care for their health. The outcome? A model that could change how hearing care is delivered—powered by our Audimetroid technology and the HearLead product.
A Partnership That Made It Possible
We’re deeply grateful to the ASV team for their support and forward-thinking approach. Their openness to integrating proactive health screening into a non-clinical environment—like a gym or leisure centre—was crucial to the success of this pilot and underscores ASV’s commitment to the broader well-being of their members. By embracing innovation and focusing on community well-being, ASV helped lay the groundwork for a new way to deliver accessible, stigma-free hearing care.

Hearing Health, Reimagined
Gyms and leisure centres are ideal spaces for reaching people who might otherwise delay hearing checks. In our pilot, 79 participants aged 19 to 82 engaged with our service over just 11 days. Most had never taken a hearing test before. Importantly, none were actively seeking hearing care—demonstrating that accessibility and context are key to engagement.
But it wasn’t just the setting that made this work. It was HearLead.
The HearLead Difference
HearLead isn’t your average hearing check. Designed to feel more like a game than a test, it makes hearing screening approachable, engaging, and even enjoyable. Participants were not only willing—they were enthusiastic. Several returned with family members, driven by word-of-mouth excitement about the experience.
Behind the scenes, HearLead’s proprietary spatial listening method delivered more than just novelty. It gave users meaningful insight into their hearing health—clearly and quickly. While it’s not a diagnostic tool, its accuracy in screening for hearing loss above 35 dB HL meant participants left with real direction: either peace of mind, or a prompt to seek professional care.
Reducing Barriers, Raising Awareness
By stripping away the clinical setting, commercial pressure, and logistical hurdles of traditional hearing tests, HearLead helped remove the stigma and friction that too often prevent people from engaging with their hearing health.
The response was clear: people appreciated the low-pressure environment, the ease of access, and the simplicity of the experience. Many said they’d never have taken a test otherwise. Some even asked to repeat the check periodically to track their hearing over time.
Why This Model Works—Only With HearLead
The success of this initiative wasn’t just about location. It hinged on a tool that could meet people where they are—literally and figuratively. HearLead delivered an experience that was technically robust, logistically simple, and emotionally positive. That combination is rare in hearing care.
We believe that this pilot is just the beginning. The model is scalable, and the appetite is there. But making it work elsewhere? That depends on having the right tools and expertise.
